Inspired by the sea and its graceful inhabitants, Cachola represents a symbol of patience and persistence. Comprised of high quality GFRC concrete and stainless steel, each sculpture is 28" long and weighs roughly 18 lbs ( 25 with the alloy fluke).  The name Cachola is derived from the the sperm whale's Portuguese name meaning, "Big Head".

It has taken me a better part of two years to develop my process from initial modeling to materials and mold making. As my techniques have improved, so to have the sculptures. Endless amounts of polishing and grinding gives each piece an individual personality, as well as one of a kind characteristics and textures inherently found in concrete.
